Failed molecular clocks do not create a shrimp age test
The evidence library is allowed to change in public. This page preserves the revised boundary, why it moved and which guides were affected.
What changed
The growth and lifespan guide now includes an open doctoral thesis that tested global DNA methylation and mitochondrial point mutations across bounded-age Neocaridina cohorts.
Why it changed
The ELISA comparison depended on recalibrated standards after only 30 of 100 raw readings fell within range. The mitochondrial comparison found no age-group difference across approximately 6 kb after removing one influential animal, while probable nuclear copies affected approximately 9.5 kb. Each sampled age came from one selected cohort tank, the egg samples came from one mother, different animals were sampled at each age and the cited 13-month lifespan was not measured by the thesis.

Affected practical guides
A public change is not automatically a retraction. A source may be added, a scope narrowed, a gap refined or an error corrected. The current guide and registry record own the current wording.
